Teacher Jo has been practicing as a Speech-Language Pathologist since she obtained her Bachelor's degree in Speech Pathology in 2008. She has undergone trainings and seminars in Speech Sound Disorders and in Social Thinking, to mention a few. She is a PROMPT Level 1 Practitioner and she recently received an Augmentative and Alternative Communication Specialist certificate via the Tinig-AAC Project and University of the Philippines – Manila College of Allied Medical Professions. Currently, she is The Therapy Room’s Clinic Director.
She has been handling pediatric patients with articulation, language, and social thinking difficulties associated with developmental conditions like Speech and Language Delay, Childhood Apraxia of Speech, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Global Developmental Delay, Cleft Lip and Palate, and Down Syndrome. She also works with adult patients and is experienced in different cases such as Aphasia, Dysarthria, and Apraxia associated with neurogenic conditions such as Stroke and Traumatic Brain Injury. |
Known for her organizational skills, Teacher Jo makes sure to provide each patient with evidence-based management that fit their needs. As dedicated and serious that she is with her work, she still finds time to enjoy life and take things lightly. On her free time, Teacher Jo enjoys reading, watching movies, and cooking. She also loves to travel and have well-deserved R&R trips.
In the future, Teacher Jo plans to take further studies in Speech Pathology and in other related fields. She hopes to help more children and adults with communication difficulties and empower families to become active participants in therapy.
